» Gastronomy and oenology… Pure art

In Sicily Oenology and Gastronomy are the focal points of a variety of activities: agricultural, cultural and craft. An union of excellence and creativity that can reach surprising and harmonic results.. a true art form. In home grown products, in a recipe or in a glass of wine there are the traces of customs, habits, ideas, values and all the story of this territory, in perfect harmony. Real and imaginary pathways in the fields, in the wine shops and in the home which pursue colours, forms, and flavours. An art form to touch.. to taste.. Pure harmony involving primary, secondary e tertiary: participants in a common journey alimented by tradition, enhanced by daily sacrifice and the strong memory of this land. This heritage belongs to everyone... to show, to savour, to pursue, to exalt the atmosphere of an ancient land, Sicily, that has obtained strength and found its identity in its natural resources. Our residences are located in the Valley of Noto in the south-eastern part of the Island, this area is of vital importance to Sicilian production. It is distinguished by an hill landscape that runs from the West Erei mountains to the East Iblei mountains brushing the Catania’s plain arriving to the sea until Capo Passero on the southern part of the coast. The soil is composed of sand, conglomerate, clay, flood deposit, limestone and lava and the climate is sub-tropical. In the provinces of Caltanissetta, Ragusa, Siracusa and a part of Catania, we find the "doc" wines such as the Nero d’Avola, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the Eloro, the Moscato di Noto and the Moscato di Siracusa.

These famous wine cultivations are known for the production of wines with a marked and pleasant acidity, with a characteristic delicate fruity profile which can almost seem tropical. Other important wines in the area are: Albanello, Sirah, Damaskino, Grecanico and Chardonnay. Red wines are very diffuse and very important in the area; an outstanding red wine from this area is Nero d’Avola produced in the Siracusa area. All the wines obtained from this grape, are characterized by full-body, elegance and a structured taste.

» Oenology, gastronomy and tourism… The sun cooking

Land of accord e discord due its collocation in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just 800 years ago it was a vital historical centre in a world which had not yet been explored. The alimentary culture of Sicily has changed in time due to the influence of different races and civilizations that sometimes just passed and other times settled in their lands, radically modifying the life of the Island and enriching its fascination and intensity. All these different cultures have been influenced by Mediterranean tradition, blending together all the different components: the new and the old. All the cooking traditions, perfectly amalgamate one with the others, and today are renowned as the Typical Sicilian Cookery (the “cuscus” of Trapani is a succulent example). The cooking of the sea, of the earth, the cooking of the Sun
